How it works
- Pick a plan. The whole Bible in a year, the whole Bible on weekdays, or the New Testament at two speeds. All start on Friday, January 1, 2027.
- Print the checklist. Each plan is a free PDF: every reading with its date and a box to tick, on a few pages you can fold into your Bible.
- Or make it yours. Starting later, skipping Sundays, or reading one book? Open any plan in the generator and change the dates, days or section.
Why these plans are balanced
Most yearly plans give a fixed number of chapters a day, so some days take four minutes and others twenty. These count the words in every chapter instead, and give each day whole chapters adding up to about the same reading time. Psalm 119 gets a day to itself; a run of short psalms shares one.
To read at your own pace, the reading plan generator makes a plan for any dates, and reading the Bible in a year covers how to keep going when you fall behind.
Questions
How do I read the Bible in a year in 2027?
Read about three or four chapters a day, around eight minutes at an average pace. The whole-Bible plan below spreads the 1,189 chapters over the 365 days of 2027, balanced by length so no day is much longer than the others.
Are the printable plans free?
Yes. Download and print them as often as you like, for yourself, a small group or a church. There is no signup.
What if I start late or fall behind?
Open the plan in the reading plan generator and set the start date to today, with the same finish date. It recalculates the days so you can still finish by December 31.
Which translation are the plans for?
Any. The readings are chapters, so they are the same in every translation. Time estimates use the Berean Standard Bible at 238 words a minute.
Is this a chronological plan?
No. The plans follow the order of the books in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, which is the most common way to read straight through.
